The 2016 SN Doubles Championships were hosted in Hattiesburg this past weekend with the team of Matt Orum and Cameron Colglazier winning the Men's Open division. Brandi Myers and DeNee Shepard won Women's Pro. Shane Seal and Kevin Patton took Pro Masters while Dean Pfeifer and John Taylor won Pro Grandmaster!

The 1st Annual Flight for Cancer tournament being held on June 18th at Little Black Creek DGC is a charity tournament of two rounds with proceeds going to the Hope House of Hospitality in Jackson, Mississippi.
This event is in memory of Paul Vogel, whom was succumbed to cancer in 2015, and was an avid disc golfer in the region. It's a a fun event with CTP's, ROF, and 1st place divisional trophies. The registration fee is $25 for all divisions so come out for a fun day of disc golf for a great cause!
All disc golf players will receive a Senior Olympics shirt and other goods, free lunch at the event, and get to select one free disc from the Hiller Park collection!

MS Senior Olympics consist of multiple events across several weeks and includes an elaborate opening and closing ceremony, with food. One small entry fee, $25 I believe, allows you to compete in any and all events that you want/can. Medals are awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each 5 year age group at all events. The competitor with the most medals overall is recognized during the closing ceremony.
MSO is a qualifying event for the 2017 National Senior Games to be held in Birmingham, AL. We are an "Open" state which allows seniors 50+ from other states to compete in our games.
The objectives of the Mississippi Senior Olympic program are:
- To educate the citizens of Mississippi and the nation of the importance and potential of experiencing good health throughout their lifetime.
- To provide quality, competitive athletic experiences for older adults.
- To improve the quantity and quality of health-related programs for older adults.
- To provide an opportunity for community organizations to work cooperatively in the provision of a Senior Olympics program.
- To establish a year round educational program on health and wellness for mature adults through clinics, workshops, written materials and supportive resources.
- And, to establish a statewide network of local and state level State Games
Tony Bass is directing the The Hub City Open at Tatum Park and Duncan Lake courses on April 2nd with one round at each course.
Entry fees are: Junior - $15, Beginner/ Recreational - $23, All Intermediate - $28, All Advanced - $33, and All Pro Div.'s - $43
