DGM Installation & Set Up Guide … Step by Step

The below may look like an unforgiving, impossible, multi-step process, but truly it’s simple for most WordPress users. We have taken extra measures to detail each step as all clients may not be seasoned WordPress plugin users, but more of a novice when dealing with plugins! Installation is usually less than five minutes.

    Download the free Disc Golf Manager Plugin from Wordpress. Available via this link! Install plugin in usual manner.

    Season/Points

    Seasons/Points Setup

    Go to setting in the "Disc Golf" menu and create a season. Season is defined annually. Most clubs go with the calendar year of January 1 through December 31, However, you have the option of defining your season. In any case, it should be for 365 days!

    Leagues

    Leagues

    Leagues could be considered smaller points series within the overall season. To set one up, select the "League" option under "Disc Golf", select "Add New" and name your league and description. Be sure to attached it to a season via the drop-down selection box on the right side of the page. Save, and your new

    Also under the "Disc Golf" menu, select "Events" and add a new one! A form requesting the following options is displayed: Event Name, part of a league?, TD, doubles?, description, srat/end dates, par, course, city, state, and web url. Save, and your event is created.

    In the "Disc Golf" menu, add a new players with the following details: First name, Last name, email, PDGA#, cell#, address. city, st, zip, and birth year. Name and email are required. All other fields are optional. Note: the program sorts player scores based on their first name, last name, and email, therefore it is

    Under the "Disc Golf" menu, select "Divisions" and create divisions offers for your events. Simple!

    Under the "Disc Golf" menu , select "Scoring", select "Add New". Visit the drop-down boxes, select the event, the division, and the player.     Shortcodes display the event data. Create a new page for Events, Upcoming Events, Players, League, and Points. Please the appropriate shortcode in it's relevant page as follows: Events = [disc_golf_event] Players = [disc_golf_player] Upcoming Events = [disc_golf_future_events] Leagues[disc_golf_League] Points Series = [disc_golf_overview]

    Important: The "Settings" page provides drop-down boxes for the Event, "League, and Player shortcodes. If these are not set properly, the pages including the shortcode may not work properly of not be found.

Once you’ve accomplished the above steps, you should have tournament information available on your site.Be sure to designate the appropriate pages in your menu navigation, then enjoy the benefits of having your club’s events online!
